Subject: Cawthra Park # 074, Ward 1 - Cawthra Estate Walled Garden ruin - safety.

We would like to inform you that the elevated portions of the walled garden on the Cawthra Estate
will be removed for safety reasons.  Arrangements will be made to complete the work during the
week of December 17, 2000, weather permitting.

The work will be carried out by making horizontal saw cut at a safe height to address the sections of
the wall that represent a safety hazard.  The bricks will remain on site until further assessment can be
made, at which time the bricks will be removed by hand methods.

careful consideration has been given so that wildlife habitat is not disturbed by these operations.
