Albert Atkins - wrote editorials for the Mississauga News.

When Mr. Atkins wrote his remarkably insightful editorials, even the Mayor took note.
A fact she noted in City Council.  The insight he displays of Mississauga politics and in particular, Hazel McCallion's political methods is joy to behold.  Truly a man after my own heart and opinion, expressing injustices to be found in Mississauga City Hall far better then I, but I never claimed to be a great writer.  Where are you when we need you Albert Atkins?  Heard you went so far north, no one knows where you are (did you want to get that far away from Hazel?).  If any one does know where he can be found please let me know.  Most of what is noted deals with the cat shelter issue.

Aug. 23, 1989  Her only crime is compassion
-  Editorial from the Mississauga News by Albert Atkins 1989
- "Ironically, Mrs. Stevens fell out of step with city hall because of praise, not complaint."

Aug. 30, 1989   City's true intent is being questioned
-  Editorial from the Mississauga News by Albert Atkins 1989
- City wants out of being a land lord and talks about the early days of  fight.

Oct. 18, 1989  City shooting itself in foot on shelter
-  Editorial from the Mississauga News by Albert Atkins 1989
"Nobody thwarts the mulish will of Hazel McCallion and escapes unscathed.  Mrs. Stevens and her husband found themselves ordered by the City to vacate the premises, "

Oct. 25, 1989    Humane concerns only muddle issue
- Editorial from the Mississauga News by Albert Atkins
- Right after BIG Oct. 23 meeting. "It was the day democracy failed to move an autocratic Mayor Hazel McCallion and her subservient city council to rid themselves of their small-town mentality and bravely confront the problems of a modern metropolis."

Nov. 1, 1989   A question for electorate to ponder
-  Editorial from the Mississauga News by Albert Atkins 1989
- Just after Oct. 23, meeting,  talks like a election is close.
"democratic", what does it really mean, especially in Mississauga?
